Is the pc in the corner struggling to boot? Does it make the sound of a small airoplane when you try and open a spreadsheet? Is your fileserver a shared floppy that only works on Alices pc? If you answer yes to any of those questions, trhen it may be time to invest in new systems.
With the era of 64 bit computing firmly placed, it is stiull common to find a dusty 6 year old machine being used for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. The philosophy of "if it aint broke, dont fix it" is a very good one, but even PC's deserve to be recycled after a long life. The truth of the matter is that cutting edge today is old hat tomorrow, and the industry keepos on pumping out bigger, better machines. Just a few years ago, it was unheard of that a PC had more than a gig of RAM, and memory sticks were 8meg big!
Investing in new IT infrastructure doesnt have to be all that costly. Its amazing what a good clean and refurbish of a pc can achieve. Sometimes its just a small component that needs upgrading to give you another years life. If you went to a car dealership and the mechanic told you that you needed a new car, would you get a second opinion? Fred round the corner who runs the garage may tell you that he can get parts for you for smal price. We do the same with PC's
Sometimes however it is inevitable that a PC needs to simply be shutdown for one last time. Because we are not tied to any resellers we use the whole of Europe as our shopping cart! Sometimes its cheaper buying a pc from Germany and having it shipped here, than sourcing it locally. Sometimes time is of the essence, and you need it yesterday! We constantly monitor prices from ALL the local suppliers so we remain informed 7 days a week.
We dont supply hardware ourselves.. We dont see the point of buying hardware from a supplier and then charging you extra for simply delivering it. What we can do though is guide you and advise you on WHAT you need, and tell you WHY. Sometimes spending an extra few hundred Euro will save you hours in your workflow. Sometimes though a 25€ upgrade will do exactly the same thing!
