The security and discretion that we offer is paramount to a perfect working relationship. We will NEVER use any information that we have gained from working on ANY system for ANY means other than what it was intended. Our company is registered under the Data Protection Act (ACT XXVI of 2001, as amended by Acts XXXI of 2002 and IX of 2003 and Legal Notices 181 and 186 of 2006, and 426 of 2007.) in Malta, and as such conform to the VERY strict EU standards.
We also operate a "clean in, clean out" policy as well. If needed, we will surrender all equipment for professional wiping when we are finished on a project.
Case Study 1.
Client: An artist that was hosting an exhibition.
Brief: Customer wanted a new website.
Budget: Less than €300
Result: http://www.cabotgoslin.com
Details:
Cabot contacted us wanting to showcase his artwork prior to an exhibition. He wanted a gallery theme, that utilised added protection for his images, ensuring that they could not easily be reproduced. As a result and after consulting him on various methods we decided to utilise a clean flash website, offering ease of use and enabling a clean interface that fit his brief to a T. The website can be updated by Cabot himself using notepad, a web FTP interface and no coding experience.
Case Study 2.
Client: A local firm.
Brief: Server migration from shared system to dedicated system with minimal downtime.
Details:
The client contacted us regarding a server migration from a shared system to a dedicated system. Initially the client was interested in using cloud services only as they have no internal administrator. After analysing the current structure of the firm, and due to the fact that they have less than 10 on site employees, Freelance IT recommended a Small Business Server 2008 system. Hardware was purchased locally from a reputable supplier, and software and installation was provided from us. Part of the brief was a "minimal production downtime", and as a result the planning schedule was implemented from Friday evening until Monday morning.
Result:
The clients employees left the office on Friday evening, and we then secured and backed up all data. The server had been pre-configured off site, and was finalised on site. During this time we also re-installed every PC in the office with Vista Business without need for additional hardware. The Small Business Server was then configured to act as a complete domain controller, centralised file server, email server and shared file repository. A centralised antivirus solution was also installed, and emails were migrated from the old shared system into the new server. Backups were set to run 4 times a day to ensure that data would not be lost in case of user or hardware errors.
One day on site support was provided to ensure that problems did not occur, whilst the employees returned to work on Monday morning. The system also gave the employees remote access to their email, and some files. Training of key staff included basic server management, and by utilising the built in wizards, and providing documentation the user can manage 90% of all tasks themselves. The customer also opted for a monthly minimal administration fee with a 24/7 call out option. This includes server maintenance, centralised updates and a rapid response option. The customer now has a system that increases productivity, and allows the employees to work from remote locations in case of sickness or business travel.
